What Phonekit stores
What we hold, why we hold it, and who else touches it.
What we hold
- MessagesThe full text of everything your numbers receive. A shared inbox cannot work without storing what arrived.
- Detected codesParsed from the message text so they can be copied in one press. Detected when you read the original message.
- HistoryWho opened a message, who copied a code, and who changed access or keys.
- Your accountName, email address, and the public half of each passkey. No password. Biometric data never leaves your device.
Who else is involved
Standard numbers are sourced through a licensed carrier, who carries the message before it reaches us. Anyone sending SMS depends on a carrier this way.
We do not sell anything to advertisers, and message content is not used to train anything.
Deleting
Delete a message and it goes for everyone in the organization. Releasing a number preserves its messages under the organization’s retention period, measured from receipt. The carrier may reassign the number to somebody else.
Deleting here does not cancel anything. A verification code stays valid for as long as the service that sent it says. Only that service can void it.
Messages default to 30-day retention measured from receipt. Owners and admins can change retention in Settings.
Asking us
Ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or for your account and its history to be removed, and we will do it. Email us and a person will answer.
